The Pub
Selsey’s only pub near the sea, since around 1800
There has been a pub on this spot since around 1800. It appears on Ordnance Survey maps and in Kelly’s Directory as an inn from 1838, and for most of its life it was known as the Albion, the name our road still carries. In 1970 it took the name of the lifeboat crews who have launched from Selsey’s shore for generations, and the bar keeps a collection of lifeboat memorabilia to this day.
Inside you will find two traditional bars, one with the dart board, and a comfortable eating area. Outside, a large paved garden catches the sun from morning to evening. The lifeboat station and East Beach are a couple of minutes’ walk down the road.
Dogs are very welcome, children too, and there is step free access throughout the ground floor.
